Burnley Lancashire, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time €13 - €14

Primary Teaching Assistant

  • Part-time role
  • September 2024 start
  • Competitive rate of £12.90 - £13.50 per hour
  • Experienced in a school setting required
  • Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 candidates required
The school closures in prior years have left students, on average, 3 months behind in their studies with over 44% of pupils requiring extra support in the coming academic year. Owing to such, the government have allocated additional funding to supporting these pupils and it is expected that a large proportion of this will be allocated to employ extra Teaching Assistants. Teaching Personnel are therefore recruiting a bank of staff to supply to schools over the East Lancashire area. We are currently looking to place candidates in schools across Padiham, Burnley, Todmorden, Nelson and Rawtenstall. As a Teaching Assistant, you would work closely with the class teacher to assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons across a range of subjects including maths, reading and writing. You would also be responsible for implementing the school’s behavioural policy. The successful candidate must have experience within a Primary School setting, preferably in the Key stage they wish to work. As part of the role, you may also be asked to work on a 1:1 or small group basis to provide additional support to children who may fall below target in terms of academic or social development. After such a long period away from the classroom, it can only be expected that some students will find it harder than others to return to school. The successful candidate should therefore be of a nurturing nature and prepared to assist children into their return to school life as much as possible. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided. For details of our privacy policy, please visit the Teaching Personnel website
