Building Positive Relationships: Establishing trusting and positive relationships with students is essential. Teaching assistants should create a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel safe to express themselves and seek help when needed. Assisting with Classroom Activities: Teaching assistants support the delivery of lessons by assisting students during class activities, providing one-on-one instruction, and adapting teaching materials to meet individual needs. Providing Emotional Support: Students with SEN needs may require additional emotional support. Teaching assistants should be empathetic listeners and provide encouragement and reassurance to help students cope with challenges and build resilience. Requirements: Relevant Degree: Ideally in psychology, education, or healthcare, equipping you with foundational knowledge crucial for this role. Key Skills: Resilience and empathy are paramount in effectively supporting the diverse needs of our students. Driving License: While beneficial, it's not mandatory for this role.
