About the team

The FP&A team plays a key role in examining, analysing and evaluating Tide’s financial performance. We build financial plans and models, and use data to extract insights, to support business decision-making that leads to improved financial performance. 

About the role

As FP&A Lead you will take an active role in partnering with various departments across the business globally: collating and framing company data, building financial models to assess financial viability of business cases, continually tracking and monitoring financial performance, and meeting with various stakeholders to gather and communicate key financial information and support commercial decision-making.

The role will focus on key risks relevant to Tide that could have a significant impact on its financial performance, including, capital, solvency and liquidity.

  • Partner with the business and risk teams to develop a greater understanding of business and operational processes and associated financial forecasting of critical risk areas of fraud, disputes, chargebacks and negative balances, as well as credit risk.
  • Collaborate with product, risk and engineering teams to identify vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies that optimise P&L performance and improve risk exposure.
  • Perform comprehensive operating and risk cost analyses to highlighted financial impact of Tide’s strategic initiatives (e.g. new products, markets)
  • Owning the business case evaluation for risk mitigation projects and initiatives - building data driven financial models to determine financial viability (ROI, payback period) and ongoing monitoring of key metrics to measure the performance of those projects
  • Develop and implement financial models to assess the impact of various stress scenarios and market conditions Tide’s financial health and performance. Establish KPIs and early warning indicators that trigger management actions to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to report and monitor these KPIs
  • Support and reviewing reports, financial models, analysis, and other work completed by FP&A and the wider Finance team
  • Develop and implement continuous process improvements 
What we are looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated FP&A Lead, focused on managing the cost of risk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in FP&A, with a proven track record in global technology-driven and scale-up environments
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting, complemented by relevant professional certifications.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, analytics, and business intelligence reporting tools.
  • Extreme ownership, willingness to be hands-on, a collaborative approach and high integrity.
  • Proactive and solution-focused with strong critical thinking skills and an exceptionally high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills including the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Solid systems ability, in particular advanced Excel and Google Sheets, as well as advanced knowledge of FP&A systems (Anaplan desired)
  • Background in financial services or regulated environments is not essential for this role.
