We do an awful lot in the Trading team at Ecotricity. As well as purchasing all the electricity, gas and renewable certificates for our customers, we are the team that is responsible for all the customer pricing, forecasting, and cost/profitability analysis.
We love numbers, complex systems, and working out amazing ways to analyse data, use it, and share it in insightful ways. It would be fair to say that we are often at the cutting edge of a forward-thinking energy company, and are constantly developing, adapting, and finding new ways of doing things.
An exciting role in the Trading team as part of the Pricing & Commercial Function, this role is about helping the business understand the profitability of its products and the customer base. There are so many elements, complexities and nuances that make up what profitability looks like for our customers, and this role is there to help bring these elements together.
The role will be supporting the Sales teams to resolve problems when pricing customers and working with Accounts Payable to validate invoices from suppliers. Along the way you will learn about the systems we use in Pricing and start to develop your coding skills to support those systems.
For the right candidate, the opportunity exists to develop coding, energy industry & commercial skills.
Supporting Sales teams in pricing and contracting with customers
Supporting Accounts Payable in validating invoices from
Assisting with other areas of the business to feed pricing & profitability analysis into new commercial ventures and strategies for customer growth and increased profitability
Assisting the Pricing & Commercial Manager & other areas of Trading with any ad-hoc queries which may arise.
Comfortable working in Excel. A desire to develop skills in VBA/Python/SQL or other programming languages would be a plus

We don't just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers' bills to make it ourselves too - we build windmills, sun parks and green gasmills in Britain. Some of our biggest achievements to date include building Britain's first megawatt windmill and the country's first grid-scale sun park, as well as building our first green gasmill, generating 100% green gas from a source that we will never run out of grass.
