Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland (2 days onsite per week)

Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Duration: 12 months

Realtime is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our clients dynamic team in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust Java-based applications.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Agile Practices: Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to continuous improvement within the team.

Key Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of Java 8+ and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in Spring, Hibernate, and other relevant Java frameworks.
  • Experience with designing and implementing microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Proficient with Git and version control best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Belfast for at least 2 days per week.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.
  • Experience with TDD, BDD, and automated testing frameworks.
  • AWS or Azure certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable.

Contract Details

  • IR35 Status: This contract is inside IR35, meaning that you will be required to operate through an umbrella company or via PAYE.
