Role description:

We currently have an opportunity for a talented Senior / Principal Signalling Engineer – Rail to join our Rail Scotland Business Unit, to be based in our Glasgow office. We would also consider people to be based at other Arcadis locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and successful team that is growing rapidly. You will join an experienced multi-disciplined team within our regional Business Unit and report to an experienced Rail Systems Technical Director.

Role accountabilities:

Maintain strong working relationship with aligned Arcadis Global resources and ensures that local staff work effectively with Global Design colleagues, in presenting value-led solutions in the Rail signalling specialism.

Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry.

Oversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a project team, including sub-contractors, ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilised. You will also Manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

Previous experience in an Engineering role on Rail Signalling projects, leading the design by example, and ideally with some CRE experience
Working knowledge of the UK Rail industry
Ability to work in a hybrid/remote model, but also willing to travel to office/site as required
IRSE Signalling Principles License (1.1.550) and IRSE Signalling Verifiers License (1.1.160)
Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status
