Meat Technologist

Location: Hull but regular travel in the UK and overseas

Monday-Friday with one WFH day. Flexibility is required.

Salary: £35,000 + benefits


An opportunity has become available for a Meat Technologist at a large blue chip Protein Manufacturer based in Hull to fill a current gap in their existing team. This will report into the Group Technical Supply Chain Controller, who has put together a great succession plan for the next 2-3 years to grow into a management position.


Responsibilities (but not limited to).


To manage the development and maintenance of partnerships with suppliers through monitoring of standards, giving feedback and advice and, when required, overseeing an action plan to rectify non-conformances and improve standards.


Manage and liaise with suppliers across the UK and Europe, and also across the wider business.


Support the Senior Group Technical Supply Chain Manager to deliver the GTS Strategy, and agreed KPIS


Ensure that you have a clear understanding of current legislation within the meat supply chain and are aware of future changes to legislation.


What they are looking for:


2-3 years’ experience working in meat manufacturing (ideally an abattoir) in a quality/technician role. However, they are open to other sectors of Food Manufacturing.


Fantastic attitude with a willingness to learn.


Experience working and managing supplier relationships


Flexibility is a must with this role due to the overseas travel. However this is something that is managed by you.
