SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATOR FREELANCER – ENJOY ST ALBANS 

 

Enjoy St Albans (managed by St Albans BID) seeks a Social Media Content Creator freelancer to support the BID in promoting St Albans as a visitor destination, increasing awareness of the local offering and increase both domestic and international visitors to the area.

Primary social media channels - @enjoystalbans – Instagram / Facebook / TikTok (creation TBC) 

 

Secondary social channels - @shopstalbans – Instagram / Facebook (managed in-house) 

 

CONTRACT 

 

Project Duration 

9 months, July 2024 – April 2025 (with potential to extend)  

 

Project Fee 

£500 - £600 per month (depending on experience) 

Minimum 24 hours per month 

 

Reporting to  

Communications, Marketing & Destination Manager 


Location

MUST BE local to St Albans or willing to travel (unpaid) to be able to capture content and attend events.


 

ABOUT YOU 

 

  • A creative content creator with a solid understanding of content creation, social media platforms and using data insights to optimise reach and engagement. 
  • Ideally you are a local person (or from the wider district) who has in-depth local knowledge about what’s on, things to do and things to see. 
  • Self-motivated and full of ideas, with the ability to conceptualise and deliver content from a brief as well as independently. 
  • A confident communicator, comfortable communicating with the public as well as local businesses. 
  • Suitable for students, graduates or professionals with 2-3 years of experience. 

 

DELIVERABLES 

 

The freelancer will play a key role in developing and implementing a digital strategy to enhance brand awareness, engagement and drive visits. 

 

  • Forward planning to develop a content plan of relevant and engaging content with the Communications, Marketing & Destination Manager for Enjoy St Albans.  
  • Capturing original content, video and photos as well as making use of BID’s catalogue of media assets. 
  • Create and post engaging and relevant content that showcases the destination including attractions, scenery, events and businesses.  
  • 5 x posts per week across all social platforms to include a minimum of 1x original reel per week and regular content to stories. Original and reshared (with permission) posts. 
  • Community engagement, responding to DMs and comments. 
  • Supporting secondary channel (managed in-house) @shopstalbans when required.  
  • Supporting the office team updating website and adding content, listing and events to website. 
  • Producing 1-2 blog articles per month for the website featuring local attractions, events and/or businesses. 
  • Produce monthly results and findings report.
