Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineers x3 - EV/Motorsport/Marine - UK - £40k to £70k


Just be to be clear, I am working on 3 different Senior Electrical Design Engineering roles all in different parts of the UK.


Role 1:


Company: Motorsport

Role: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Oxfordshire

Working Arrangement: Primarily on site, options for flexibility


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the company’s electrical design team to devise electrical solutions for our motorsport products.
  • Develop electrical systems for both on-vehicle and off-vehicle applications, including harnesses, actuators, sensors, and control units.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults systematically, encompassing both hardware and software issues.
  • Create production drawings for electrical harnesses and components.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation, both for internal use and customer-facing purposes, aiding in electrical installations.
  • Manage the release of parts and assembly structures into the bill of materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments and customers to facilitate the construction and testing of parts, systems, and vehicles.



Role 2:


Company: Marine/EV

Role: Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £50k to £65k

Location: Scotland

Hybrid WFH - Mainly on Site


The company is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their talented team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience with High and Low voltage and can lead the design and development of electrical systems by harnessing the immense potential of marine renewable energy sources such as wave and tidal power.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead electrical design projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Develop detailed electrical designs for LV and HV systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and specifications for components and materials.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project engineers, and procurement specialists, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed electrical designs, considering factors such as system performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the electrical engineering team.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to assess electrical installations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as necessary, representing the electrical engineering team and providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in electrical engineering technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to optimize the design and performance of LV and HV systems in marine energy projects.



Role 3:

Role: Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £40k to £70k (Negotiable Depending on Experience)

Location: Northern Ireland

Hybrid WFH - Mainly on Site


One of my key clients working in the EV / Batteries / Mobility Sector is recruiting for a skilled and motivated Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Electrical and Electronics team based in Northern Ireland. The company is a cutting-edge company dedicated to advancing sustainable maritime transportation solutions through innovative engineering and technology.


Responsibilities:


  • Electrical System Design: Lead the design and development of electrical systems for marine propulsion applications, including power distribution, motor control, and energy storage systems.
  • Component Selection: Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to select appropriate electrical components and subsystems, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • System Integration: Coordinate the integration of electrical systems with mechanical and software components, ensuring seamless functionality and compatibility throughout the development process.
  • Testing and Validation: Plan and conduct comprehensive testing and validation procedures to verify the performance and reliability of electrical systems under various operating conditions.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve electrical issues through systematic troubleshooting and debugging techniques, providing technical support as needed to resolve issues during development and deployment phases.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test reports, to communicate design requirements and findings effectively to internal teams and external partners.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in electrical engineering, actively seeking opportunities to enhance design methodologies, tools, and processes to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
