My client represents a leading financial services firm at the forefront of revolutionising international payments with innovative technology and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic IT team.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure and analytics solutions, driving data-based decision-making across the organisation. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including department heads, analysts, and product managers, you will design and implement scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems.
  • Developing and optimising data integration, transformation, and cleansing processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data and analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
  • Implementing best practices for data engineering and contributing to the team's technical expertise.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, processes, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ideally with Azure SQL, and experience working with relational databases.
  • Programming experience in Python or Scala.
  • Experience with Snowflake and its tooling (Snowpark, Snowpipe, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Fivetran, DBT, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other modern data stack components.
  • Knowledge of data integration and ETL frameworks and tools.
  • Understanding of DataOps, data mining, and data visualisation/BI tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
