Due to the expansion of our R&D Department, we have a newly created Mechatronics Engineer role available at our site in Kingswinford.


The purpose of this role is to create and develop electro-mechanical design solutions for Handicare products and to provide engineering designs which comply with the appropriate regulatory requirements, detailed to a high standard to facilitate manufacture.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Design solutions to meet technical, quality, time and cost requirements
  • Integration of electrical/electronics components and assemblies into electro-mechanical systems
  • Specification and validation of embedded software in association with 3rd parties
  • Producing engineering detail drawings and other associated documentation necessary for product certification, manufacture, installation and service
  • Verification, validation and development of designs from initial concept to volume manufacture
  • Working effectively within a team and with other company departments and external suppliers to realise complex technical solutions in a volume production environment
  • Any other duties deemed reasonable, which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role and level of responsibility.


Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Mechatronics, or another engineering discipline with suitable experience within a Design & Development environment.
  • Electro-mechanical design experience and knowledge
  • Electrical and Electronics systems design experience
  • Testing and design verification/validation experience
  • Design for Quality & Manufacturability
  • CAD literate
  • Electronics design and development
  • Design verification and validation
  • Producing specifications, engineering detail, Bills of Materials, etc. to a consistent high standard
  • Practical and pragmatic approach to fault finding
  • Methodical and logical
  • Tenacious and time managed
  • Capable of self-starting and working effectively as part of a larger team
