Role Description

Ajar Technology, a UK-based integrator specialising in AV, Security System, and IT solutions, invites applications for a Project Manager position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in steering projects across public, private, and residential sectors to successful completion.

While technical knowledge in the integration field is a plus, it is not mandatory. This position is suitable for project managers who are keen on broadening their scope in a technologically driven environment. The ideal candidate will become an integral member of a well-established team while benefiting from structured development opportunities designed to enhance their skills and career trajectory.

The candidate should expect to pass BS7898 screening as well as all necessary client vetting procedures which would allow them to access to high security sites such as Airports, Police Stations & Government offices. This will involve criminal and financial background checks.

Key Responsibilities

·      Project Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, H&S, and quality standards established by the company.

·      Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison for all project stakeholders, ensuring transparent and impactful communication. Responsibilities may encompass conducting on-site visits for direct meetings, providing project updates during on-site briefings, managing escalations, or leading technical review sessions and project closure activities.

·      Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and oversee project budgets and timelines, leveraging our central CRM system to maximise resource allocation for optimal financial and time efficiency in project delivery.

·      Team Leadership and Motivation: Lead project teams with a focus on collaboration and motivation, ensuring project objectives are met with high standards.

·      Risk Management: Identify potential risks early in the project and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring minimal impact on the project's success.

·      Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest quality standards for project deliverables, ensuring they meet or exceed client expectations.

·      Documentation and Contract Management: Utilise existing project process documentation effectively while also innovating and expanding upon these processes as needed to meet unique project requirements. Manage project contracts diligently, ensuring compliance and addressing any contractual challenges that arise.


Desired Skills and Qualifications

·      Proven track record in project management, with experience in AV, Security, or IT sectors considered a plus.

·      Strong ability to utilise and enhance existing project process documentation, coupled with the creativity to innovate, and adapt processes for specific project needs.

·      Demonstrated experience in effective contract management, with a keen understanding of contractual terms and their practical application.

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.

·      Proficient in managing budgets, schedules, and resources to maximise efficiency and profitability.

·      Proficient in use of Project Management Software tools (such as MS Projects), as well as experience using CRM/Commercial Trade Software systems to quantify and log deliverables and specialist products.

·      Leadership qualities that inspire team members to achieve excellence.

·      PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

·      Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within a similar role.
